google app scripts to open link and trigger analytics -


i admin of google site (classic) website requires tracking of attachments on google analytics. site page shows "preview image" of file (jpg image) linked url address actual attachment resides.

how can track clicks on image/attachment?

i tried campaigns, did not work (does not push results analytics). tried embedding html box, did not work. tried app script got forum, worked partially tracked click, did not open document.
