i trying use javascript , replace function in javascript replace spaces in variable "<br />". clarify, not want break, want literally "<br />". how make "<br />" invalid html?

i'm sorry if newbie question, can't find answer anywhere.

this uses html "entities" < , > ("less than" , "greater than")
