SharePoint - Excel Online - Edit in Excel and Edit in Browser multiple users -


i new sharepoint/sharepoint online.

i have created excel document in document library. if users edit via excel online has no problem.

but if user1 edit excel file in "edit in excel"(open in microsoft excel) , other user2 edit in browser(excel online) both cant edit file @ same time.

if user2 tries edit file in excel online when user1 edited in excel gets warning -

unfortunately, workbook needs closed on or checked in before can edit it. if uses excel online, can work on @ same time.

i wondering if there way user1 edit file in microsoft excel , user2 edit on excel online @ same time.

i tried find information on says - multiple users can edit online. want find if there other way.

if in asked questions, question 'why can't see other people's selections?', answer states 'only if , other people using excel 2016 office 365 subscribers, or excel online'.

if not mistaken previous version of excel default 'check-out' document when opened on client-side, making inaccessible until checked in.
